Taxicabs: A cab ride costs $28.00 from the airport to the Central Business District (CBD) for one or two persons and $12.00 (per passenger) for three or more passengers. Pick-up is on the lower level, outside the baggage claim area. There may be an additional charge for extra baggage. $1 fuel surcharge added to total fare.

Airport Shuttle: Shuttle service is available from the airport to the hotels in the CBD for $13.00 (per person, one-way) or $26.00 (per person, round-trip). Three bags per person. Call 1-866-596-2699 or (504) 522-3500 for more details or to make a reservation. Advance reservations are required 48 hours prior to travel for all ADA accessible transfers. Please call well enough in advance for the specially-equipped shuttle to be reserved. For group reservations of 10 or more people please dial 1-866-596-2699. Ticket booths are located on the lower level in the baggage claim area. $2 fuel surcharge added to total fare.

Amtrak: Union Station is located at 1001 Loyola Avenue. Amtrak does not provide transportation to or from the airport. Passengers should use limousine, public bus, or taxi service to reach the station.

Coastliner/Mississippi Coast Service: Coastliner is not operating from Armstrong International at this time.

Greyhound: Greyhound Bus no longer serves Armstrong International Airport. The closest location is the Downtown Bus Station at 101 Loyola Avenue, New Orleans, 70113. For information fares and scheduling, call (504) 525-9371 or toll free 1-800-231-2222.

Jefferson Transit: The Airport-Downtown Express (E-2) Bus picks up outside airport Entrance #7 on the upper level.

Bus Fare: The fare for Airport-Downtown Express (E-2) is $1.10. The fare boxes will accept $1, $5, $10, $20 dollar bills and all U.S. coins. The fare boxes will provide change in the form of a value card that can be used for future fares.

About the Airport-Downtown Express (E-2) Route: The Airport-Downtown Express (E-2) provides service from the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport in Kenner, down Airline Drive into New Orleans. The Airport bus stop is on the second level of the Airport, near the Delta counter, in the median (look for the sign and bench). At Carrollton at Tulane it connects with RTA's 27-Louisiana and 39-Tulane buses. (Visit the RTA website to check their current schedules.)

Northshore Airport Express: Provides shuttle service to/from the North shore and the Airport. Current rates are $50 to/from the Airport and Northshore hotels and residences. Reliant Transportation Group: Provides ground transportation between Louis Armstrong International Airport and Baton Rouge, La. including Gonzales, Prairieville, Port Allen, Baker, Denham Springs and Zachary. Automobile Rental: There are 7 rental agencies with offices on the lower level of the airport; Alamo, Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz, National, Thrifty and Airport Shuttle (Shuttle), Jefferson Transit (Bus).

Advance Baggage Check-in
With Advance Check-In! travelers flying into New Orleans to board a cruise can check their luggage at the New Orleans airport and it will be delivered directly to the dock. This service is also available for passengers wishing to have their luggage transferred from the ship to the airport after their cruise ship has arrived back in New Orleans.
This service allows travelers to enjoy a free day in the French Quarter, take in the sights, and of course, enjoy some of the fabulous food for which the city is known.

Delta Air Lines has a Delta Crown Room located between gates 2 & 4 on Concourse D.

Facilities for the Disabled
The entire airport is free of any architectural barriers to the handicapped.

Financial Services
Whitney National Bank is located in the Ticket Lobby next to the U.S. Post Office. Services offered include cash advances on credit cards, travelers checks, money orders, foreign currency exchange, and ATM machines. Hours of operation are: Monday-Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Fridays 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays (closed)


ATM machines are located in the East Lobby near Concourse B, in the ticket lobby next to the bank, in the West Terminal, on the Lower Level near the Southwest Airlines Baggage Claim, and on the Lower Level near the Charter Baggage Claim.

TravelEx America Business Center is open daily from 6:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. It is located in the Ticket Lobby near the U.S. Post Office. It offers travel insurance, foreign money exchange, photocopies, fax services, emergency cash, and wire money transfers. The Money Gram section of the office closes at 4:30pm.

Baggage Storage
Baggage storage is available on the lower level between Baggage Claims 5 and 6. VIP Baggage Check Service is operated by Rush It Courier Service. Storage is available for regular and oversized items such as golf clubs, boxes, luggage, musical instruments, wheelchairs, etc. Rush It now offers full service cruise ship check-in from their Airport Office and can transport your luggage from the Airport to the Cruise Ship with advance check-in on the ship, leaving you more time to enjoy the Big Easy! 24 Hour Accessibility available upon request. Lost and Found
Airport Operations retains items that have been lost in the public areas of the terminal (with the exception of the concourse Checkpoints which is operated by the Transportation Security Administration). The office is located on the Upper Level in the West Terminal near Continental's Ticket Counter. Lost and Found is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. You can contact them at (504) 464-2671 or (504) 464-2672. Items that have been turned in to Lost and Found are donated to charity after 30 days.

Persons losing items in the airline exclusive areas (i.e. ticket counters, gate areas, or airplanes) should check with that particular airline’s baggage office located on the Lower Level.

For items that may have been left at the security checkpoints, please contact the the Support Operations Center at 504-463-2252. Passengers can expect a next business day response from TSA.

Louisiana Tax Free
Louisiana Tax Free Shopping is designed to promote international tourism in Louisiana by giving a refund on sales taxes at participating merchants. It applies to those who can show a foreign passport, an international travel ticket and who will be in the country for less than 90 days. All shops in the airport have tax free shopping as well as selected businesses throughout the city. Refunds or further information can be obtained at Tax Free Counter located on the Upper Level of the main terminal. Post Office
A post office is located in the Ticket Lobby. This is for drop off only. The window service is closed.

Smoking Areas
Smoking is prohibited in all areas of the airport terminal by state law. The only place smoking areas are available are outside the terminal on the top or bottom ramps.

Visitor Information
Visitor Information Services are located in the West Lobby (504) 464-2752. Information Booth is open from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily. All Visitor Information Service Representatives are bilingual or multilingual. Passengers needing assistance in a foreign language, not provided by Visitor Information Services, can contact the Red Cross Language Bank 24 hours a day at (504) 586-8191. The Visitor Information Services are maintained by the Audubon Institute.

The Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport offers free Wi-Fi (wireless Internet service), making travel easier by enabling airport visitors to stay connected to their home or office.

Access Points in 85 Percent of Airport Terminal's Main Level
Use wireless-enabled portable electronics to surf the Web, send and receive e-mail, and access corporate networks in 85 percent of the airport terminal’s main level, which includes most gates, sitting areas and food courts. Airport travelers can get real-time flight arrival and departure updates from the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport Web site (www.flymsy.com), browse information about the retail and restaurant offerings in the airport, and get the latest travel tips.

What You Need to Access Wi-Fi
To use the airport’s free Wi-Fi service, travelers’ laptops, PDAs, Pocket PCs, cell phones or other devices must use an 802.11 a/b/g -capable wireless network card.

To access the wireless network at the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport, ensure that you are on the main terminal/departure level of the terminal.

Set the wireless card properties to the default configuration or DHCP-enabled.
Select “LANOIA_FREE_WIFI” as the wireless network under Wireless Network Connection or the appropriate network configuration application in your operating system.

Virtual Private Network (VPN) Access

The wireless network at the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport supports most VPN clients. To establish a VPN connection simply access any public website through your web browser. You will be prompted to accept the AUP by clicking on the “Click to Continue” Link. At the next webpage click on the “click HERE to continue to the internet” link to access the Internet. At this point start your VPN client software and it should function as expected.
